Laker fans may have forgotton about this. Understandable. That's what hysteria surrounding the Lakers acquiring Dwight Howard can do.
But there's also something else going on today. Team USA plays Argentina in a semifinal at 1 p.m. Kobe Bryant isn't going to let this giddiness distract his preparation. Whether Bryant will maintain the 20-point second-half scoring barrage against Australia or revert back to his otherwise poor shooting performance remains another issue. But that's besides the point. With a win, Team USA will face Spain in the gold-medal match. And for Bryant and Pau Gasol, the two Laker teammates can duke it out before teaming up for what they envision will be a championship year.
So join the chat below. We'll see if Team USA and Argentina will be as chippy as they were in the prelimary rounds. We'll see if Carmelo Anthony can avoid getting hit below the belt, or if he came prepared with a cup. For once, you can root for LeBron James. We'll see how Bryant plays, of course. And sure, we'll talk about the Dwight Howard signing too.
